Character Education

The Star Awards Programme for Primary Schools

The Star Awards Character Education programme for primary schools is an all-in-one, tried-and-tested teaching resource and awards scheme developed by Character Education experts Geoff Smith and Shona Pye in partnership with Havering School Improvement Services (HSIS).

  • Develop your pupils’ resilience, teamwork and feelings of self-worth through progressive school-wide activities
  • Provide tangible and trackable evidence of the SMSC provision to Ofsted
  • Save valuable preparation time with plans, frameworks for learning and engaging pupil-facing materials
  • A highly-cost effective approach at £34.99 per book

Based loosely on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, the Star Awards scheme included in the programme gives children the opportunity to be recognised for demonstrating resilience, citizenship, teamwork and problem solving, British Values, moral compass, confidence and self-worth.

Written by experienced headteacher and leading Character Education experts Geoff Smith and Shona Pye and trialled in Havering Schools, you can be confident that the support and resources included in Character Education will be easy-to-use and highly effective.
