We have found that the Reading Planet Online Library has been an invaluable tool in supporting reading across our school during the period of school closure and as we have moved into the phased return. The online resources are so appealing and the children loved the wide variety of fiction and non-fiction within each book band. The  ‘log in’ screen is colourful and really easy for children and their parents to use.

We particularly appreciated being able to see which eBooks had been accessed and how many of the comprehension questions had been attempted as this enabled us to track progress and tailor our learning conversations while the children had to remain at home.

As we moved into the phased return, the opportunity to set reading tasks without having to send paperback books home has been well received. We have particularly loved using ‘Treasure Island’ with our children who have returned; the opportunity to share the book remotely has meant that those who have needed to remain at home have also been able to enjoy and play an active role in the learning.
