  • Establishing an understanding of the 42 key mathematical all children need to understand to achieve at least the expected standards
  • How were the 2018 and 2019 SATs for you? Exploring the implications
  • Teaching for secure and deep understanding, not tricks!

11.15am Morning coffee


11:30am In Your Head, With Jottings, Written Method: Focus on the Arithmetic Paper

  • In your head, with jottings, written method – some questions are ‘easier’ than they seem and don’t need the squares
  • Resources and strategies that will help all children achieve expected standards and ‘greater depth’ on the Arithmetic paper
  • 21 facts all children must know!!

12.30pm Lunch


1.30pm  Stands to ‘Reason’: Focus on the Reasoning Papers

  • What it is,What it’s not? Helping children to apply their understanding to solve standard and non-standard questions
  • Resources and strategies that will help all children achieve expected standards and ‘greater depth’ on the Reasoning papers
  • To explore the use of the bar model to help children solve word problems

2.30pm  Afternoon tea 
 


3.00pm The Final Countdown 

  • Big Picture: Intervention and revision plan for the final 12 weeks countdown to ensure all children are KS2 ‘SAT’ ready
