Literacy by Stealth: An Online Conference from the National Literacy Trust

Coming up from 9 – 13 March is the inaugural National Literacy Trust primary conference, Literacy by Stealth. The conference will comprise online sessions from 4-6.30pm, with the final session on Saturday morning. There’s more information here

The event will explore the role of popular culture in breaking down barriers between school and the home and raising literacy levels. Experts from across popular culture and technology will discuss the impact that accessible, cultural and recreational activities can have on the lives of primary aged children and how these can be channelled to raise literacy levels. 

Speakers will include bestselling author Tom Palmer, UK comics laureate Hannah Berry and Dr Sally Bushell, who led on the creation of Litcraft.  Hip hop artist, poet and author Karl Nova will round off the conference with a celebration primary literacy on Saturday 13th March.
