Key Stage 1 - 2

Units include The Zookeeper’s Story, A Setting for a Superhero and Space Holiday Letter
Sample units include teaching sessions, pupil worksheets, source texts and audio.
Units topics include historical figures, superheroes, planets and traditional tales.
Use classroom observation and children’s work to identify children who may require intervention in a specific area of the English curriculum.
Select the appropriate On Track English unit
Deliver the unit through 6 intervention sessions (each 20-30 minutes long) including 1 optional assessment session
On the final day of the intervention, assess what each child in the group is able to do independently, using the assessment tasks and guidance, and identify the next steps for their learning.
The resource is so well organised and resourced, that after initial time looking through material with the class teacher and SENCO, the intervention staff could just ‘run with it’
The children enjoy doing the practical tasks such as sorting and matching vocabulary - being detectives ‘within’ a text etc.
