We used the diagnostic test in both year groups for formative purposes and it gave us a good idea of where the children were in their learning and what prior knowledge they had. It was very useful to inform our planning! The end of unit assessments were useful both as a means of summative assessment and for addressing misconceptions. The tests were simple to conduct and were challenging enough to differentiate the high achieving children from the low achieving children
