Written by established authors who have years of teaching and test-writing experience and who are passionate about providing high-quality diagnostic information to assist teachers and support children’s learning.
With three tests for each year group, the results provide reliable diagnostic information to support and guide effective teaching and learning and offer evidence of progress.
Produce a diagnostic profile for each pupil to inform teaching.
Follow children’s progress term-by-term and year-by-year.
Compare performance against age-related expectations.
Assess a whole class in less than an hour.
We have developed intervention grids for each PiRA and PUMA test. They suggest targeted interventions to carry out from our intervention resource, On Track Maths. This means that it's easier than ever to identify appropriate individual or small group intervention activities for the areas of weakness demonstrated in your pupils' test results.
The GAPS, PiRA and PUMA results can be converted to provide a full diagnostic profile for each pupil.
The profile provides:
This allows you to immediately see whether the pupil is above or below the national average for their year.
This allows you to see how the pupil is doing against other pupils of the same age.
These show whether pupils are meeting performance expectations for their year (working towards, working at, or working at greater depth).
These allow you to get a quick measure of progress against the age the pupil’s performance is typical of.
This is an independent measure of progress throughout primary that allows fine monitoring of pupil progress and the prediction of future performance.
Quickly analyse gaps in learning to inform targeted teaching.
Enter paper test scores into online marksheets or, if you’re using the auto-marked, online, interactive versions of the tests, all results will feed through automatically.
Effortlessly generate reports for individuals, classes, schools and tailored groups to view and compare pupil progress and attainment.
Easily download visual repots that can be shared as PDFs with teachers, senior leaders, MAT leaders, governors, parents and Ofsted.
We work with the following partners to help you interpret your data:
Over 22,000 pupils took part in the standardisation of PiRA, PUMA and GAPS. Pupils were tracked termly over a full academic year, taking the appropriate test at the same time as your classes will take them. The schools were from both urban and rural settings, with a nationally representative demographic mix. To ensure the validity of the results, correlation studies were carried out to compare teacher assessments (and former National Curriculum levels) to the sample results.
