Science Progress Tests

Science Progress Tests assess knowledge and understanding of the programme of study for science through four topic tests per year:

• A diagnostic test to help teachers identify children's prior learning and plan their teaching
• A mid-topic test to assess children's learning during the topic to monitor progress against
• An end-of-topic test to assess understanding of core content after teaching
• A summative test for use at the end of the year

The tests link to the content areas of the new curriculum for science.
