Switched on Computing and pupils with Special Educational Needs

Switched on Computing and SEN

Computing is an enabler for children with SEN. Whatever their difficulties, technology can help them to learn, both by making the curriculum accessible and by letting them work to their strengths. To experience the advantages computing brings, children need to be taught the necessary skills and knowledge to use it well; Switched on Computing does this.

Switched on Computing offers the necessary materials to cover the breadth of the computing curriculum, and to give all pupils rich and meaningful learning experiences. For those with special educational needs (SEN) it can be used as a framework that can guide their teachers in ensuring that they too are included in the challenges and opportunities it presents.
