The Education Resource Awards (ERA) are a key event in the education calendar as they celebrate the crème de la crème in educational resources and services, as well as the best educational establishments and the most dedicated members of the teaching profession.
Following on from winning the Bett award only a few months ago, we had high hopes for Switched on Computing when we entered it for the ERA for Best Whole Curriculum Subject Resource including ICT. Switched on Computing has been written to help primary teachers deliver the new programme of study for computing with ease and confidence.
Rising Stars worked with an expert team to produce Switched on Computing. This included author Miles Berry, principal lecturer at the University of Roehampton, and some of the most well respected ICT and computing educational organisations; Naace, Computing at School and HES.
Having patiently waited for our category to come around, we were delighted to be announced the winner of this popular category. It is a fantastic achievement and we would like to thank Miles Berry and all of our colleagues at Naace, Computing at Schools and HES for their advice and support. The biggest thank you should really go to the 5,000 schools using Switched on Computing! Take a look at this video where some of our user schools tell us exactly why they love Switched on Computing!
