ICT in the National Curriculum Review

As part of the National Curriculum review, the government have confirmed that ICT will remain a compulsory part of the National Curriculum in all stages and that the ICT programmes of study will be disapplied from September 2012.

Teachers will have the flexibility to to teach ICT in ways that are creative, inspirational and innovative.   The consultation documents are available online here.

We think this is an exciting time and daunting time for schools and Switched on ICT can provide some really accessible support to use ICT creatively across the curriculum. Read how schools have used the scheme or get involved in the online community that are sharing their technology experiences here on this blog!

Naace, the ICT Association, have also welcomed the news and you can read their press release and see the support they offer here.
