The Department for Education have announced changes to their PE & Sport Premium funding available to primary schools.
Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils will now recieve £1,000 per pupil and schools with 17 or more eligible pupils will receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil, effectively doubling on the amount of funding available in previous years.
This means that schools will be able to help deliver even more improvements to their PE and Sport provision.
The mechanism for payment will remain the same, with schools receiving 7/12ths of their funding in October/November, and the remaining 5/12ths in April/May. You can read more about this on the government website here.
Don't forget that Champions, our PE, health and fitness resource for Years 1 - 6, can be purchased using your PE & Sport Premium funding - a resource perfect for the non-specialist teacher with plenty of activities and online multimedia to help ensure you are delivering effective and fun PE and health lessons for the whole school.
