Ben Cornford, ICT & E-Learning Advisor at Thomas A Becket Junior School, West Sussex shares how their pupils have been using different computing programs to help with their history projects.
Using Wikispaces wiki to collect and share the research workload
Year 4 pupils created non-fiction texts ‘A Guidebook to being a Roman Soldier'. They used computing lessons to learn about wikis, and collect and post information in groups that they can then each edit. The pupils used the comment section below to highlight key facts from each others wiki that they wish to use in their final guidebook.
Using Scratch to support history learning about Anglo-Saxons
The Year 4 pupils applied their understanding and knowledge of Anglo-Saxons to produce a quiz game for their friends.
