Maddy Barnes, Assisstant Head teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School
Maddy Barnes is an experienced teacher both in the UK and overseas and is a Specialist Leader of Education in the North West pilot scheme. She has worked as an English SATS marker and a QCDA Single Level Tests Marker. She has also moderated the Level 6 English tests and is an international schools marker. Maddy is a published author and has written the Skills Builders Grammar and Punctuation series for Rising Stars.
Sue Walton, Assessment and Publishing Consultant
Sue Walton worked in educational publishing before joining the Assessment Division of QCA in 2000. While at QCA Sue was Project Director for the KS3 ICT Onscreen Test Project and also for eVIVA, a research project exploring the use of e-porfolios for formative assessment.
Michael Tidd, Deputy Headteacher at Medmerry Primary School
Michael‘s area of expertise is in curriculum and assessment in primary schools. He has been influential in supporting schools and authorities to roll out the new Primary Curriculum in 2014. He currently writes a regular column for Teach Primary magazine. Michael is also a member of the Department for Education’s Teacher Reference Group. Shareen Mayers, English Consultant
Shareen has fulfilled a wide-range of roles in education. Previously, she worked as a full-time senior leader and primary school teacher (QTS) with responsibility for leading English and assessment. Currently, Shareen is a leading Primary English Consultant/Adviser for a successful and high performing local authority. Shareen has a ‘hands on’ approach and still regularly teaches in the classroom. She has a proven and extensive track record of raising standards in English across a number of schools and local authorities.
Most recently, Shareen was on the Department for Education’s expert review group for tests in the new primary curriculum for key stages 1 and 2. She is a published educational author and was co-author of the Rising Stars New Primary English Teaching Toolkit for Years 1-6 and author of the KS2 Rising Stars New Curriculum Spelling Test books.
