We're delighted that Dockside
has just won the 2012 ERA award for
Best Special Educational Needs Resource.
Dockside is a systematic and structured synthetic phonics reading scheme, specifically developed for older beginner readers.
With age-appropriate storylines, illustrations and language, Dockside does not patronise, but builds confidence so that learners can move from little or no letter recognition through to National Curriculum Level 3.
Developed in association with the The Schools Network (formerly known as the SSAT) and NASEN (National Association for Special Educational Needs), pupils and teachers have been involved in Dockside all the way through the publishing process.
Dockside is a much-needed new reading resource for older students. It offers an innovative approach to re-engaging disaffected readers and gives them a second chance at mastering basic literacy skills.
