File 1 in this exciting series which supports teaching across the curriculum through motivating and exciting project-based activities for children aged 6-7.
The Brain Academy Quests series offers cross-curricular projects for Key Stages 1 and 2, broadly aimed at children in Year 2 through to Year 6/7. Packed with activities to extend able children, the books have been produced in association with NACE, the National Association for Able Children in Education.
- Each book contains 18 'Quests' or projects.
- All the projects are based in one subject, either a Foundation Subject, RE or Science. Each project is linked to the relevant part of the QCA Scheme for that age group.
- Every Quest requires children to use their literacy and ICT skills and many build on children’s mathematical knowledge. The broad range of possible outcomes allows pupils of varying abilities to participate.
- Children are motivated by the lively characters and narrative, whilst the bold design and subtle humour help children to develop their thinking skills in an original way.
- Brain Academy books use the TASC approach to problem solving. This useful tool helps children by providing them with a framework for working through the Quests.
- Each book uses the characters and format which have been tried and tested in the other Brain Academy series.
- The series has been written, developed and tested by practising teachers and advisers, many of whom are NACE consultants.
